In Kherson, a Ukrainian Red Cross vehicle was destroyed in a drone attack

On 6 June, at approximately 17:30, a Volkswagen vehicle clearly marked with the Ukrainian Red Cross logo and used by the Kherson regional branch of the organisation was destroyed in a Russian drone attack on Kherson.

At the time of the incident, the Ukrainian Red Cross driver was inside the vehicle. Upon noticing the drone, he quickly took shelter in a nearby house. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

This incident is yet another stark reminder of the conditions under which volunteers and staff of the Ukrainian Red Cross continue to work, providing vital assistance in areas exposed to constant danger.

Attacks on the personnel and facilities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement are a serious violation of international humanitarian law and may constitute war crimes.
