Year 8 students from Yampil Gymnasium took part in an information session titled “Bad Habits: Health Risks of Smoking” and a practical session on “Financial Savings”. The educational sessions were conducted with the support of the Danish Red Cross. During the sessions, participants learned:

  • The dangers of both active and passive smoking.
  • The health risks associated with smoking.
  • The potential harms posed by e-cigarettes.

An interactive discussion was held on the benefits of quitting smoking, alongside a game called “Myth or Truth about Smoking”. These activities helped students understand how smoking affects the body and overall well-being, and the significant harm it causes to health.

In the practical session, students explored how to manage money wisely and were encouraged to give up harmful habits in favour of healthier choices.

Addressing the impact of smoking at a young age is especially important, as many lifelong habits are formed during childhood — habits that can significantly influence a person’s future health.
