Livelihoods Support Programme for Rural Communities in the Kharkiv Region

The Ukrainian Red Cross, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), is implementing a livelihoods support programme for residents of rural communities in the Kharkiv region.

The programme currently operates in the Savyntsi and Barvinkove communities of the Kharkiv region. Specifically, in the Barvinkove community, it covers the town of Barvinkove and five starosta districts:

• Podolivka Starosta District: Podolivka, Arkhanhelivka, Blahodatne, Oleksandrivka, and Yazykove
• Ivanivka Starosta District: Ivanivka, Chervone, Chervona Poliana, Vysoke, Velyka Andriivka, Semylanne, and Stavkova Balka
• Nova Mykolaivka Starosta District: Nova Mykolaivka and Chervonyi Lyman
• Hryhorivka Starosta District: Hryhorivka, Petrivka, Malolitky, and Mykolaivka
• Bohodarove Starosta District: Bohodarove, Pohonivka, Fedorivka, and Nadezhdivka

If you belong to a vulnerable group, such as people with disabilities, large families, or elderly individuals living alone, you may be eligible to receive support for your household or small-scale farming activities. Participants can choose one of the following assistance packages, valued at the equivalent of UAH 29,000:

• A greenhouse farming kit (includes greenhouse and drip irrigation system)
• A small-scale mechanisation kit (e.g. walk-behind tractor, wheelbarrow)
• A gardening kit (e.g. water tank, pump)

OR

• Financial support for farm development (e.g. livestock, beekeeping, food processing)

The programme also includes consultations, training, mentoring, and follow-up monitoring to ensure effective use of the support.

1. Participation is completely free.
2. No services or repayments are required.
