Bukovyna hosted training on psychological first aid and psychosocial support
Five training sessions on psychological first aid and psychosocial support at the community level were held in the Chernivtsi region for Ukrainian Red Cross teams, sports coaches, and library staff.
Key outcomes included:
- 31 volunteers and staff members from the Ukrainian Red Cross Home-Based Care programme and mobile health units were trained in how to provide psychological first aid.
- 17 Mental Health and Psychosocial Support volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross completed a full training course on community-level psychosocial support.
- 37 children’s librarians and youth sports coaches gained essential knowledge and practical skills in providing psychological first aid.
The knowledge gained will support children in distress, help them cope with crisis situations, and strengthen their resilience to stress. The training also placed a strong emphasis on self-care, recognising that maintaining personal well-being is essential in order to effectively support others.
