The Ukrainian Red Cross Participates in the General Assembly of the National Youth Council of Ukraine (NYCUkraine)

Kyiv recently hosted the General Assembly of NYCUkraine — a platform that brought together delegates from youth NGOs across Ukraine dedicated to shaping youth policy. The event’s programme featured discussions on the institutional support of youth initiatives by the state, the political education of youth during the war, and the development of democratic institutions in times of crisis.

Speakers at the event included the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, the Director of the Ukrainian Youth Foundation, and representatives from youth councils in Germany, Spain, Moldova, and the European Youth Forum. NYCUkraine is the sole representative of Ukraine in the European Youth Forum, which unites over 100 organisations and millions of young people across Europe. During the assembly, a new board of directors was elected, which will set the strategic direction for the union in the coming period.

The Ukrainian Red Cross was represented at the Assembly by the team from the Volunteer and Youth Development Unit. They presented key achievements in the area of Humanistic Education for 2023-2025, the outcomes of youth initiatives, the operation of volunteer and youth spaces, and examples of successful collaboration with partner organisations within NYCUkraine.

Participation in the event marks an important step towards the Ukrainian Red Cross’s associate membership in NYCUkraine and strengthening its partnership in the field of youth policy!
