The Ukrainian Red Cross has provided assistance to victims of the attack on Cherkasy
On Sunday night, the Cherkasy region came under attack once again. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Cherkasy region, working alongside local rescue services, was quickly deployed to the scene. Volunteers established an aid station where they provided psychological first aid to approximately 100 people affected by the incident. They remained on standby to administer first aid if required. The station also offered local residents and emergency workers a place to charge their mobile phones and have hot tea.
Residents whose homes were damaged or destroyed received emergency repair materials, including plastic sheeting, tarpaulin, OSB boards, as well as blankets, torches, and humanitarian aid kits. Volunteers also provided pet food for animals belonging to families whose homes were affected.
Tomorrow, with support from the Canadian Red Cross, the team from the Cherkasy regional branch will begin registering people whose homes were damaged for financial compensation.
According to the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, the strike was carried out using Russian drones. Falling debris caused damage to civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, warehouses belonging to a furniture company, a trading base, and garden plots. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has reported one person injured.
