In Odesa, the Ukrainian Red Cross participated in the large-scale event “Immunisation Town: Vaccination Holiday for Children and Adults
The event took place at the Compass Children’s City Polyclinic No. 6 to mark World Immunisation Week and was dedicated to raising awareness as part of the “Vaccination is a Common Cause” project. The Ukrainian Red Cross showcased its activities across various areas. In particular, as part of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention programme, information sessions were held on hypertension, diabetes, and tuberculosis. The sessions aimed to raise awareness of these diseases, how to correctly identify symptoms, and the importance of preventive measures and vaccination.
The partners of the event included representatives from the Coalition for Vaccination, the Odesa Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Immunisation Portal, the Department of Health of the Odesa City Council, Primary Health Care Centres of Odesa, medical institutions, charitable organisations, the Academician B.Y. Reznik Children’s Consultative and Diagnostic Centre, and the Kyiv district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross in Odesa.
The “Vaccination is a Common Cause” project is implemented by the Vaccination Coalition in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the Public Health Centre of Ukraine, and regional centres for disease control and prevention, with support from the World Health Organization. The Ukrainian Red Cross, as one of the healthcare providers, supported this initiative. Events like these are an important contribution to the nation’s health!
