3 Years of the ‘Skhid (East)’ Mission
On this day, 19 April 2022, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams launched the ‘Skhid (East)’ humanitarian mission in government-controlled areas of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
Since then, our volunteers have been working under extremely challenging conditions — amid ongoing shelling and danger — to evacuate civilians and the injured, provide first aid and psychological first aid, and deliver humanitarian aid to frontline and recently liberated towns and villages. Over the past three years, more than 100 volunteers from across Ukraine have joined the mission.
Today, the ‘Skhid (East)’ mission continues. Every day, our volunteers show not only professionalism and efficiency, but also remarkable courage and resilience as they support those who need it most.
Because helping those in need is our mission!
