The Ukrainian Red Cross supports those affected in the Kirovohrad region: 31 families have received financial assistance for housing reconstruction
Dozens of families were left with damaged homes following the drone attack on Kropyvnytskyi on 19 March 2025. The Ukrainian Red Cross swiftly responded to the situation, offering support to the affected residents.
To strengthen the response in the region, a team of specialists from the Cherkasy regional branch joined the Kirovohrad organisation. Together, they launched a cash assistance programme for housing reconstruction. So far, 31 households have received financial support to help with the priority repairs of their homes.
“We are one team, regardless of the region we work in. When help is needed, we stand by those in need. It is important to see how our efforts bring real benefits — this inspires and motivates us to keep going,” said Yuliia Kholodna, Head of the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The programme provides support to families whose homes have sustained light or medium damage, including essential elements such as roofs, doors, and windows. The amount of assistance is determined individually, based on the extent of the damage, using specially developed methods.
The implementation of the programme was made possible thanks to the support of the Canadian Red Cross.
