In the Rivne region, the Active Longevity Club organised a themed event for residents of a psychoneurological residential care facility
The teams from the Active Longevity Clubs in the villages of Hoshcha and Tuchyn organised a Beauty Day event for the residents of the Tuchyn Geriatric Ward No. 3 at the Rivne Psychoneurological Residential Care Facility. Professional makeup artists and hairstylists were invited to give everyone stylish makeovers. The event provided participants with a welcome break from their daily routines and helped them feel appreciated.
“We organise such events twice a month to offer our residents moments of warmth, communication, and joy. They genuinely enjoy each meeting, eagerly anticipate the next, and express their gratitude for our attention and support. They often share their stories and memories with us. The greatest reward for me is seeing their happy faces and hearing their kind words – it’s in these moments that I truly realise how important it is to be there for them,” said Oleksandr Kyrylchuk, volunteer leader of the Hoshcha branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross and manager of the Active Longevity Club in Tuchyn village.
The event was attended by staff from the Home-Based Care programme of the Rivne regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, as well as a representative from the German Red Cross, which supports the activities of the Active Longevity Clubs in the Rivne region.
Active Longevity Clubs provide a space where older people can socialise, share experiences, engage in creative and physical activities, join volunteer initiatives, attend information sessions, and acquire new knowledge and skills. These clubs, organised by the Ukrainian Red Cross, help individuals stay socially active, maintain their physical and mental health, feel supported, and connect with like-minded people.
