Mine Risk Awareness Information Session

Mine Risk Awareness Information Session

The Humanitarian Access and Protection Department of the Ukrainian Red Cross held an information event to raise awareness about mine risks. Among the attendees were representatives from the Italian, Danish, and German Red Crosses, who emphasised the importance of this vital work.

Partner representatives stated:

“Raising awareness about the risks of explosive hazards and promoting safer behaviour — an initiative currently being carried out by the Department in 19 regions of Ukraine — is extremely important. Mine risk education is a key element in saving lives. We are committed to further expanding and supporting mine action efforts in Ukraine.”

The Head of the Humanitarian Access and Protection Department added:

“The danger can be hidden, even in regions where no fighting has taken place. This is why holding information sessions in every community — and encouraging civilian caution — is essential for ensuring safety.”

We sincerely thank our partners for their ongoing support and joint efforts to reduce the risks posed by explosive ordnance and to ensure the safety of people across Ukraine.
