The Ukrainian Red Cross held themed events across the country to mark the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action

Since 2015, the Ukrainian Red Cross mine risk team has been working tirelessly to raise awareness among Ukrainians about the dangers of explosive hazards and the rules for safe behaviour.

By 4 April, mine risk specialists in 18 regions of Ukraine had organised outreach events to provide essential information on safe behaviour, particularly in frontline cities, towns, and villages. During these sessions, participants practised safety protocols for detecting explosive devices and responding to shelling. Attendees also had the opportunity to explore 3D models of explosive devices, learning how to recognise them in real life. The events were held in city parks, educational institutions, public spaces, and through a door-to-door approach, ensuring that everyone could gain this vital knowledge and share it with their loved ones.

Remember, safety is a shared responsibility. Share this knowledge with your friends and family!

We stand by those in need!
