“Now, I can be of help to my family and grow personally” — Iryna, a participant in the “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” programme
Iryna lives in a village near Ternopil with her son, Taras, who has a disability. The boy attends an inclusive group at school, and Iryna works as a teaching assistant in his class. Due to the poor transport links, the daily commute to Ternopil was a real challenge. It took a lot of time and energy, leaving her with little opportunity for personal development.
When Iryna learned about the “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” programme, implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross with the support of the Spanish Red Cross and the Swiss Red Cross, she decided to take a driving course. After completing the course, she obtained a Category B driving licence.
Her life has changed significantly: Iryna can drive herself to school, assist her family, and save time. Additionally, she is looking for a new part-time job that will allow her to take better care of her son while developing professionally.
