Mobile bath and laundry complexes of the Ukrainian Red Cross operate in frontline regions
Meeting the basic needs of Ukrainian citizens in times of war is a constant focus of the Ukrainian Red Cross. When access to water and electricity is limited, hygiene becomes a critical issue. That is why mobile bath and laundry complexes are helping people in the communities most affected by Russian attacks.
How do the Ukrainian Red Cross mobile bath and laundry complexes operate?
Each regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross assesses the needs of the affected communities and forms teams to support the population as effectively as possible.
Currently, the complexes are operating in the following regions:
- Sumy region – Community visits are being carried out, and hubs for the homeless are supported in the city.
- Kharkiv region – Services are being provided to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Kupiansk community and Kharkiv.
- Zaporizhzhia region – Assistance is being provided to communities, along with support to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
- Kherson region – Operations are ongoing in frontline communities.
In January, the equipment underwent testing, and technical issues were resolved. In February, the mobile units became fully operational. Over the past two months, 282 people have received hygiene services from the mobile bath and laundry complexes.
We continue to help where it is needed most.
