The Ukrainian Red Cross and its partners are working to restore the Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in Kyiv

This unique medical facility is not only vital for Ukraine but also for Europe, as it provides care for children with congenital heart conditions from the moment of birth. Before it was damaged on 8 July 2024 in a Russian missile strike on Kyiv, the centre treated around 1,000 children each year.

Approximately 30% of the repairs to the Cardiac Centre’s building have been completed. With the support of our partners, we are working to restore the facility to full functionality as quickly as possible.

Recently, representatives from the Canadian Red Cross, one of the partners providing financial support for the reconstruction, visited the Cardiac Centre for a monitoring visit.
