The Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service in the Mykolaiv region organised an event for the families of missing persons and prisoners of war

The event aimed to provide emotional support through socialising, mutual help, and a cultural programme. Over three days, members of seven families visited Lviv, where they had the chance to connect, receive support, and temporarily escape their everyday struggles. The rich programme offered not only emotional support through interaction but also a cultural experience, allowing participants to explore the history of Lviv.

Families involved in the event explored the historic city centre, visited a museum, the observation platform, and various architectural monuments. These moments not only offered cultural enrichment but also helped participants feel the strength of unity and support in difficult times. Along with the cultural activities, the event provided a space for communication among people going through similar experiences. This allowed them to step away from everyday struggles, gain cultural insights, and find new strength and resilience while continuing the search for their loved ones.

“Your big heart and tireless work are a true example of compassion and dedication. Thanks to you, I was able to feel supported, find the strength to keep going, and not lose hope for a long-awaited reunion with my family,” shared Iryna, a participant in the trip.

For the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service, supporting families who have lost contact with their loved ones due to the war is one of its most important missions. Through events like these, we aim to provide families with positive emotions and experiences, which are crucial in these challenging times.
