In Kyiv, training for Ukrainian Red Cross specialists on restoring family links was held

A three-day training on Restoring Family Links in the Context of International Armed Conflict was held in Kyiv, bringing together a team of specialists working in various regions. The training aimed to update their knowledge and plan further cooperation. Participants took part in sessions covering international humanitarian law, psychosocial support, and the organisation’s standards for the dignified treatment of the deceased. They also had the opportunity to meet with a representative from the central office of the Coordination Centre.

According to the participants, the training was valuable both from an informational perspective and in strengthening interaction with the psychosocial support team. This will contribute to more effective assistance for the relatives of missing persons and help preserve their own mental health.

Daily work with the families of missing persons involves significant psychological strain and a high level of responsibility. Therefore, the opportunity to communicate with colleagues in a supportive atmosphere is a key element in fostering team cohesion and resilience.
