The Ukrainian Red Cross helps the victims in Sumy

Volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Sumy region have been at the scene of the tragedy since the very first moments. They provided first aid, transported the injured to medical facilities, and offered psychological first aid to the victims and their families. Volunteers also inspected the area and visited apartments to identify those in need of assistance.

According to the Sumy City Council, as of 24 March, 99 people were injured, including 23 children. Three people are in critical condition. Twenty-six buildings were damaged, and more than 3,000 windows were shattered.

Today, assistance is being provided to residents whose homes have been damaged: OSB boards are being distributed to cover damaged structures, along with waterproof tents and plastic sheeting to temporarily protect windows.
