The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team worked to reduce the impact of the attack on Kyiv
Tonight, the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team worked to reduce the impact of the attack on Kyiv.
The emergency response team of the National Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross operated in two districts of the capital where assistance was most needed. A team of volunteers from the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team in the Poltava region also joined the effort.
The volunteers, alongside first responders from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, evacuated those affected and handed them over to an ambulance team for further hospitalisation. On the ground, the volunteers administered first aid to five victims and provided psychological first aid to others who were impacted. They also offered comprehensive support to the emergency workers during the rescue operations.
A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station was set up at the site, where people could drink tea and charge their mobile devices.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, three individuals were killed in the Russian drone attack on the capital, and eight more people were injured.
