Austrian Foreign Minister’s Visit to Kyiv: Support for Ukraine and Cooperation in Recovery

On 14 March, Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger visited Kyiv. This was her first visit to Ukraine as head of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During her visit, she toured the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Cardiac Centre, which were damaged by a Russian missile strike on 8 July 2024. There, she met with Edem Adamanov, Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine; Olena Stokoz, Deputy Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross; and Camilla Mittelberger, representative of the Austrian Red Cross in Ukraine.

During the meeting, Olena Stokoz spoke about the work of the Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response teams in mitigating the consequences of the strike. She also discussed the reconstruction efforts being carried out by the Ukrainian Red Cross at the Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, with financial support from the Austrian Red Cross.
The Austrian Foreign Minister expressed her solidarity with Ukraine and its people, emphasising the importance of further bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

We are grateful to our international partners for their support and assistance in restoring critical medical facilities!
