Dnipro Region: Raising Awareness of Evidence-Based Rehabilitation
As part of its community-based rehabilitation efforts, the Ukrainian Red Cross is actively working to raise awareness of evidence-based rehabilitation and inclusivity among the population. In particular, trainers regularly conduct sessions for social workers, medical support staff, and all professionals involved in physical and mental rehabilitation.
Find out more about the training provided by the Ukrainian Red Cross through a session conducted by a team from the Dnipro region, supported by the British Red Cross, in the video.
Barrier-free accessibility, inclusiveness, respect, and correct communication with people with disabilities are not separate projects or training programmes. These are our values, reflecting our commitment to change ourselves and society, making it accessible to all.
The Ukrainian Red Cross actively promotes awareness of evidence-based rehabilitation and effective communication with people with disabilities. In less than six months, the Rehabilitation in the Community project has achieved significant results:
- Professional Development:
Training sessions for over 1,200 professionals have helped the medical and social sectors better prepare to work more effectively with individuals in need of rehabilitation.
- Development of an Inclusive Environment:
Educational events involving more than 1,000 participants have sparked discussions on disability and rehabilitation issues, contributing to greater awareness, empathy, and the building of an inclusive society.
