In Dykanka, Poltava region, the Ukrainian Red Cross has opened an Active Longevity Club
Active longevity is an approach aimed at supporting physical, mental, and social well-being of older people. To this end, the Buzkovyi Hai Active Longevity Club was launched at the Territorial Social Service Centre of the Dykanka Village Council with the support of the Canadian Red Cross.
The club provides a space where older adults can engage in various activities, meet like-minded individuals, develop new skills, and take care of their health. These efforts aim to improve their quality of life, social integration, and active participation in community life. The club also encourages intergenerational interaction, promotes mutual understanding and respect, and facilitates the sharing of traditions and experiences.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Poltava regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross and delegates from the Canadian Red Cross. Volunteers from the Dykanka district branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the Dykanka Village Council, the Territorial Centre for Social Services, and the Children’s and Youth Creativity Centre helped organise the event. The opening was part of the BraVo programme, which focuses on branch and volunteer development within the Ukrainian Red Cross.
