“I was given the chance to not only change my own life but also help others” — Anastasiia, a participant in the “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” programme
After the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine, Anastasiia was forced to leave her home in Sloviansk and relocate to Ternopil. She had worked at the Slavic Vocational College of the National Aviation University and holds a degree in aviation. However, in her new location, she was unable to find a job in her field, so she temporarily worked as a salesperson.
Despite the challenges, Anastasiia never stopped seeking opportunities for self-realisation. When she came across information about training under the “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” programme, implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross with the support of the Spanish Red Cross, she decided to give it a try. From the very beginning, she became intrigued by the activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross and realised that this was the organisation she wanted to work for — helping those in need.
When Anastasiia learned about an open position, she applied. After successfully passing the interview, she joined the Ukrainian Red Cross team.
Anastasiia’s story is an example of remarkable persistence and inner strength. She has demonstrated that, even in challenging circumstances, it is possible to find new paths, open up new perspectives, and help others.
