A delegation from the French Red Cross, headed by President Philippe Da Costa, visited the Ukrainian Red Cross

During the visit, the delegation met with the organisation’s leadership: President Mykola Polishchuk and Director General Maksym Dotsenko.

The main focus of the meeting was on key areas of cooperation, including humanitarian support, the development of social projects, and strengthening the capacity to respond to the challenges of war. The parties also discussed further support from the French Red Cross for the activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross and assistance to the people of Ukraine.

“International support is extremely important to us. We are grateful to the French Red Cross for their solidarity and assistance, which enables us to support Ukrainians,” said Mykola Polishchuk, President of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The delegation also visited the Lviv and Kyiv regional branches of the Ukrainian Red Cross, where they learned about the activities of the psychosocial support unit and attended a first aid masterclass. The guests had the opportunity to witness first-hand the extent of the destruction in the Kyiv region, including the consequences of Russian attacks, by visiting a household that had recently suffered a UAV strike. They also visited the memorial to the fallen residents of Bucha, accompanied by the deputy mayor of Bucha.
