А delegation from the Swedish Red Cross and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine, led by First Secretary Erik Petersson, visited the Sumy region

The purpose of the visit was to carry out the joint project, “Ukraine: Resilience, Recovery, and Rehabilitation,” in collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross. Under the terms of the agreement, the main areas of focus in the Sumy region include the construction of a temporary social housing centre in Sumy and the implementation of a mental health and psychosocial support programme. As part of the visit, the delegation toured the construction site for the future modular town for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and attended psychosocial support activities for children.

Among the priority humanitarian areas supported by the Swedish Red Cross in the Sumy region are the work of mobile health units, home-based care, the BraVO programme, and more. Representatives of the Swedish Red Cross and the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine also held several meetings with local authorities to discuss the situation in the region and assess the needs of the population.
