In Odesa, firefighters were trained in first aid
Instructors from the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted a first aid training session for local and volunteer fire brigades of the Podil District Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region. Emergency workers honed their first aid skills, learning key techniques such as the proper sequence for administering first aid, bleeding control, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and providing first aid in emergencies like respiratory obstruction, unconsciousness, injuries, strokes, allergic reactions, and more.
The training included both theoretical instruction and practical exercises to reinforce the skills. Upon completion, all participants received internationally recognised certificates, valid in 191 countries.
This knowledge and these practical skills will help first responders not only save lives in emergencies but also in everyday situations, as injuries, burns, minor bleeding, and other relatively non-life-threatening incidents can happen to anyone. These skills will enable them to respond effectively and provide quality first aid when needed.
