Social Project ‘Kramnytsia’ in Khmelnytskyi: Giving Things a Second Life for a Good Cause
The social project ‘Kramnytsia’ (Charity Shop), which combines the principles of conscious consumption and charity, is successfully operating in Khmelnytskyi. It is a space where anyone can donate items they no longer use while supporting those in need.
Launched in March 2024 with the support of the Danish and Ukrainian Red Crosses, the project began accepting donations from concerned residents in June. The official opening of the charity shop took place on 30 October 2024, and since then, more than 1,072 kg of clothing has been collected.
The space not only accepts and sells clothes but also actively promotes ecological awareness. Since its opening, ‘Kramnytsia’ has organised four events focused on style, conscious consumption, and textile recycling. The proceeds are used to support vulnerable groups in the community.
An example of the charity’s activities is the donation of clothes and toys to the Solobkivtsi Educational and Rehabilitation Centre, which is home to 120 children aged 6 to 20 with complex developmental disabilities.
If you want to join the initiative — by donating items that can be given a second life or by purchasing unique products with a story — visit the ‘Kramnytsia’ charity shop at 70 Proskurivskoho Pidpillia Street, Khmelnytskyi.
