Assistance at the site of a strike on a residential building in Sumy
On the night of 30 January, Russian forces targeted a ten-storey residential building in Sumy.
A team from the Ukrainian Red Cross is working at the site of the attack alongside the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Red Cross emergency response team volunteers evacuated victims from the damaged building. They also provided first aid and psychological first aid to those affected and offered comprehensive support to the emergency workers.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, four people have been killed, and nine others, including a child, have been injured. The attack resulted in the destruction of nine apartments and twelve balconies.
Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
