In Odesa, sessions for lyceum students were held as part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s Health Promotion and Disease Prevention programme
The team conducted training for 9th-grade students at Odesa Lyceum No. 9 to raise awareness about healthy lifestyles and promote the development of healthy habits. Thirty-four participants attended three information and practical sessions. During the “Healthy Lifestyle” session, students learned about the importance of proper nutrition, physical activity, and daily care for their physical well-being. The session on “Human Immunodeficiency Virus” provided participants with information on the main aspects of HIV/AIDS and their prevention.
The “Assessment of Tobacco Dependence” session focused on the negative impact of smoking on the body and its potential consequences. It included a practical exercise to help determine the level of addiction and steps to prevent it. Particular attention was given to e-cigarettes, which are just as harmful to the body as regular cigarettes due to the chemical and toxic substances they contain. In fact, a healthy lifestyle begins with developing healthy daily habits.
