The Ukrainian Red Cross informs emergency workers in Odesa about mine risks
A mine risk specialist from the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted information sessions for personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa, focusing on the dangers of explosive hazards and safe behaviour.
Emergency workers are the first to arrive at the scene after attacks, fires, or other emergencies. They often face the threat of explosive remnants, unexploded ordnance, or fragments, which pose a significant risk to life. Therefore, awareness and preparedness for these dangers are crucial for their safety.
Particular attention was given to the types of mines that could be found in the sea and along the coast as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP, as well as the recommended procedures for responding to the detection of dangerous objects.
We remind everyone of the basic safety rules. If you find a suspicious object:
- Stop.
- Do not panic.
- Do not touch.
- Call 101 or 102.
Stay safe, even in the most challenging conditions!
