6,000 Patients a Month: The Work of Mobile Health Units in the Khmelnytskyi Region
People living in remote areas of the Khmelnytskyi region can access primary healthcare, free over-the-counter medicines for general therapeutic use and specialist consultations. This support, aimed at strengthening the work of healthcare facilities, is provided by mobile health units of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
In addition, when necessary, the team refers individuals to specialised medical professionals or helps transport those unable to do so themselves to medical facilities. Both local residents and internally displaced persons can receive assistance.
The Ukrainian Red Cross mobile health units are specialised medical teams that support the healthcare system in delivering high-quality primary healthcare to Ukrainians during times of war and other humanitarian crises. These units provide essential medical assistance where it is needed most, reaching even the most remote areas of the country.
The primary mission of the mobile health units is to strengthen local primary healthcare services by offering qualified medical care to the population in remote regions of Ukraine, as well as to the numerous internally displaced persons affected by the ongoing hostilities.
