In cooperation with central government authorities and in accordance with a resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Red Cross has joined the distribution of liquefied petroleum gas to residents of the Sumy region.

As part of a pilot project, the Ukrainian Red Cross has funded the storage, transportation, and refilling of gas cylinders for 800 households. So far, 160 households in the Chernechchyna, Okhtyrka, and Velyka Pysarivka territorial communities in the Sumy region have received assistance.

This type of assistance, in the form of liquefied petroleum gas, is provided as part of a pilot project for residents of areas affected by hostilities and where social infrastructure has been destroyed. This support is aimed at helping residents in frontline areas, where hostilities have occurred or are ongoing, meet their basic needs, including the means to prepare food.

The support is of significant national and social importance, as it addresses the consequences of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
