UAH 224.1 million for households in 9 regions: The Ukrainian Red Cross has completed the winter cash assistance programme
The Ukrainian Red Cross has successfully implemented the Winter Cash Assistance 2024/2025 programme aimed at supporting households affected by the war. The assistance provided financial support to help meet basic needs during the winter months.
Thanks to the support of our partners — the Austrian, Norwegian, British, and German Red Crosses, along with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (with funding from USAID BHA) — 10,672 people in nine regions of Ukraine (Dnipro, Donetsk, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy) received cash support. The total budget for the programme was UAH 224,112,000.
The programme was designed for the most vulnerable groups of the population, including:
- persons with disabilities (groups 1, 2, and 3),
- parents and guardians of children with disabilities,
- low-income large families,
- single parents,
- internally displaced persons,
- parents (or guardians) of children undergoing cancer treatment.
Special attention was given to people with limited mobility: the registration process was tailored to their individual needs, allowing them to access assistance in the most convenient way possible.
This initiative is part of the Ukrainian Red Cross’s ongoing efforts to support those in need. During this challenging winter period, we remain committed to ensuring a decent standard of living for everyone.
We stand by those in need!
