Knowledge that protects: the Ukrainian Red Cross mine risk specialists conducted an information session for Rivne patrol police
Mine risk specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross recently conducted an information session on “Educational Security Service” for employees of the Patrol Police Department in Rivne.
What was discussed?
- The risks of explosive remnants of war and mines that can pose a threat to public safety.
- How to recognise a mine or explosive object: key signs of potential danger.
- Procedures to follow upon discovering suspicious objects: how to protect yourself and others.
- Basic safety rules during shelling: how to act to minimise risk.
Why is this important for the police?
- Patrol police are the first responders to emergencies, including the detection of mines and other explosive devices. Their awareness of these risks enables them to:
- Protect citizens by responding quickly to potential threats.
- Inform local residents, including those in educational institutions, about safe behaviour.
Coordinate with emergency services, such as the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the National Police of Ukraine, ensuring a more efficient response to eliminate the danger.
“Sharing this knowledge is our contribution to community safety. Despite all the challenges, we continue to work because the safety of Ukrainians is our priority!”
The Ukrainian Red Cross remains committed to the safety of Ukrainians. These sessions provide police officers with essential knowledge and skills, enabling them to effectively carry out their mission of protecting lives and health.
We stand by those in need!
