Forty per cent of participants in first aid training are children aged 11 to 17

The Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, provides first aid training to children who are members of the Young Firefighters and First Responders Movement. In 2024, the instructors successfully delivered this training to 22 regional teams and 156 district teams.

Young Ukrainian first responders are actively involved in first aid training. The training helps them master essential skills that can save lives, such as how to stop bleeding and what to do in the event of fainting or a heart attack. This knowledge not only proves invaluable but also fosters the development of responsibility, self-confidence, and a willingness to help others in difficult situations.

Since 60% of the training is hands-on practice, our trainers personalise the approach for each student, ensuring the training is both engaging and easy to understand.

Young first responders are our pride and our hope for the future.
