In the Sumy region, the Ukrainian Red Cross Home-Based Care team visited 33 beneficiaries to assess their needs and improve the quality of services

Our team places great emphasis on adapting activities to the needs of the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as incorporating feedback that helps enhance service quality. Based on requests and medical indicators, we optimise the schedules and frequency of visits and provide our beneficiaries with rehabilitation and care aids. For example, in the Sumy region, during a recent regular visit, social helpers provided people in need with personal hygiene products.

Overall, 54 social helpers from the Ukrainian Red Cross provide assistance to 304 people across 39 communities and districts in the Sumy region. This includes household assistance, hygiene services, psychosocial support, and help with various everyday issues. People receive not just a service but full support and the reassurance that they are not alone. The Home-Based Care programme in the region is implemented with the support of the Swedish Red Cross.
