The Ukrainian Red Cross, together with partners, has conducted a monitoring visit to the Paediatric Cardiology Centre in Kyiv
Recently, a delegation of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, led by Secretary General Nikolaus Marschik, the Austrian Embassy, headed by Dr Arad Benkö, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Ukraine, Angelika Forsström, Delegate of the Austrian Red Cross in Ukraine, and Mykyta Ilin, Head of the Ukrainian Red Cross Shelter and Settlements Unit, visited the children’s ward of the State Institution “Scientific and Practical Medical Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” in Kyiv.
During the visit, the progress of restoration work carried out by the Ukrainian Red Cross to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the medical facility was assessed.
The reconstruction work is being funded by the Ukrainian Red Cross and partner national societies within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, including the Austrian Red Cross. The total cost of the project is UAH 42 million.
It is important to note that the building of the Paediatric Cardiology Centre was damaged as a result of a massive missile attack on Kyiv on 8 July 2024.
