Rehabilitation training is regularly held in the Mykolaiv region
The physical and mental rehabilitation team of the Ukrainian Red Cross regularly conducts training sessions in Mykolaiv and the region. In December, 12 training sessions were held as part of the “RECOVER: Supporting Communities and People in Mykolaiv and Ukraine to Recover from Crises and Build Resilience” project, with support from the Danish Red Cross.
In particular, on 18 December, a training session on “Positioning and Transfer” was held for junior and middle-level medical staff at Mykolaiv City Hospital No. 1. During the session, participants learned the general principles of patient transfer, practised techniques for selecting appropriate equipment based on needs and contraindications, and honed their skills in positioning and transferring patients in various scenarios.
The following day, on 19 December, a training session on “Rehabilitation Aids” was conducted for doctors and representatives from the International Medical Teams NGO. The session covered the classification and principles of prescribing rehabilitation aids, training methods for their use (including stair climbing), and the rules for proper positioning in wheelchairs.
Each training session consisted of two parts: a presentation and a practical session, which enabled participants to consolidate their theoretical knowledge through hands-on practice. Participants actively shared their experiences, discussed the challenges they encounter in their work, and explored new approaches to improve their practice.
We remain committed to improving the quality of rehabilitation services in communities.
