Holiday magic from Coca-Cola: 1.5 million bottles for vulnerable Ukrainians
Coca-Cola HBC plant in Ukraine began the bottling process of 1.5 million bottles of Coca-Cola beverages labelled “For You.” These 1.5-litre bottles are produced to become a special present for families in need, large families, internally displaced persons, elderly people, people with disabilities, and residents of regions close to the front line.
“Last year, we expressed our solidarity and support by providing 1 million Coca-Cola bottles to Ukrainians in need. This year, we decided to increase the number to 1.5 million. The bottles are currently on the way across the country thanks to the Ukrainian Red Cross, the D.R.E.A.M. Charitable Foundation, and our employee volunteers,” explained Andriy Bublyk, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director, Coca-Cola HBC Ukraine.
“For the past two years, we have supported this initiative by delivering beverages to communities in collaboration with our partners. This is another manifestation of our commitment to people during the war. We believe that support is of great significance, particularly during the most challenging periods of life,” emphasised Maksym Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross.
“Ever since the full-scale invasion began, we have been working in close cooperation with the Scottish Hope Full organisation. Within this cooperation, we visit the most vulnerable and affected regions to treat the locals with warm pizza. We are glad that our partnership with Coca-Cola continues for the second year in a row, and this year, in addition to the charity beverages, Coca-Cola also sponsored the provision of 10,000 pizzas to help recreate the festive mood for those who need it the most,” said Nina Myronenko, CEO of the D.R.E.A.M. Charitable Foundation.
In total, since 24th February 2022, the Coca-Cola System and the Coca-Cola Foundation have committed to providing over 35 million US dollars in aid to Ukrainians.
