In Cherkasy, the Ukrainian Red Cross Volunteer Space, a non-formal education centre for young people, has been renovated

The technologically advanced and comfortable youth centre, run by the Cherkasy city branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, is the first of its kind in the city, offering a unique non-formal education programme. It will host the Ukrainian Red Cross Volunteer School and the Leader of Change School of Humanistic Education and Leadership. Volunteers will also lead training sessions and leadership courses, promote the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, organise leisure activities for young people, and foster their creative abilities, among other initiatives.

The centre will be open to students and pupils aged 14-25 seeking opportunities for education, personal development, and creativity, as well as young people aged 18-35 who aspire to become leaders, are interested in social issues, and want to make a positive impact on society.

The renovated space already hosted the first youth forum, which was attended by leaders of the League of High School Students of the Cherkasy region, participants of the League-Ment-Fest project, and youth leaders from Cherkasy educational institutions. Honourable guests and partners were also invited.

In today’s world, young people are actively involved in various projects, volunteer activities, and social movements. They not only express their opinions but also change the world around them, becoming drivers of positive transformation in their communities. Therefore, we are pleased to make efforts to create opportunities for young people to bring their ideas to life.

The centre was opened as part of the BraVo programme, which focuses on branch and volunteer development of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with the support of the Canadian Red Cross.
