Odesa: The Team’s Response Efforts at the Strike Site
Today, Russia once again attacked Odesa. The strike damaged three apartment blocks, a university campus, and administrative buildings. According to preliminary information from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 43 people were injured, and 10 people were killed. The strike also caused a fire covering 500 square metres, which was extinguished by firefighters.
The Odesa regional emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross has been working alongside other rescue services. Volunteers took three seriously injured individuals to hospital and provided first aid to five victims. The victims also received psychological first aid.
A mobile heating unit has been set up at the site of the strike, where residents of the damaged buildings can keep warm and charge their devices. Volunteers also provide food, hot tea, and coffee to local residents and emergency workers helping to mitigate the consequences of the attack.
Volunteers from the Odesa regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross also provide materials for temporary repairs to damaged homes.
