Assistance to those affected in Odesa following overnight attacks on the city
Yesterday evening, Russia launched a massive attack on Odesa. Residential buildings, a heating main, an educational facility, and a church were damaged.
Seven volunteer crews from the Odesa regional emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross worked alongside the city’s rescue services at six sites of the attack. The volunteers provided first aid and psychological first aid to the victims. The Ukrainian Red Cross also set up aid stations where people could charge their devices, drink hot tea, and receive other assistance.
Currently, the Ukrainian Red Cross team continues to work on the ground. Volunteers and staff are distributing plastic sheeting and tarpaulins to residents of buildings damaged by the attack for temporary repairs.
According to preliminary data from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, one person was killed, and 10 others were injured.
