In Lviv, the first training on psychological first aid was held for the staff of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine
The training was organised by the Lviv Regional Branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross as part of a memorandum of cooperation with the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
The session brought together psychologists from the SES of the Lviv region and specialists from the mobile emergency psychological assistance team.
During the event, participants had the opportunity to learn about the basics of psychological first aid (PFA), people’s reactions to crises, and strategies for supporting individuals in stressful situations. They discussed the importance of active listening, observation, and referral, and developed practical skills through role-playing.
In addition, special attention was given to the importance of self-care, as psychological burnout can be a serious issue for those who provide assistance in emergency situations on a daily basis.
The training was informative. Thanks to the comfortable atmosphere and open communication, participants were able to share experiences and gain practical tools for working in emergency situations.
We thank all participants for their dedication and professionalism! Let’s continue our fruitful cooperation!
