Quality Support for People through the Ukrainian Red Cross “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” Project: The Story of Valentyna

Valentyna, a physician from Cherkasy, was given the opportunity to provide quality care to people in a beauty salon through the Ukrainian Red Cross project, “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities”.

Valentyna studied at Cherkasy Medical College and then worked for eight years as a nurse in the neurosurgery department. She dreamed of starting her own business based on her specialised education. After the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine, Valentyna went abroad with her child, where she had time to reassess her life. Upon returning home, she completed a beauty therapy course and began building her own client base. She also took refresher courses and attended exhibitions.

Later, she learned about the “Reboot: Expanding Employment Opportunities” project, implemented by the Ukrainian Red Cross and the Spanish Red Cross. Since Valentyna’s husband is a combat veteran, she applied for a microgrant and was selected as one of the winners. Thanks to this grant, she will purchase a pressotherapy device with infrared heating and electrical muscle stimulation for her professional practice. The device helps remove excess fluids and toxins from the body while maintaining body tone.
