The Ukrainian Red Cross helps evacuees in Kharkiv

Last week, volunteers from the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, with the support of partners, provided assistance at the evacuation transit point, distributing individual food parcels and hygiene kits to 1,385 people. At their temporary residences, an additional 2,593 people received aid, which included family hygiene kits, children’s kits, and individual hygiene packs.

It should be noted that, due to the deteriorating security situation in the Kharkiv region, the forced evacuation of the population is ongoing. Volunteers from the Kharkiv regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, in collaboration with local authorities and other volunteer organisations, are evacuating residents from the dangerous areas of the Kupiansk district. Last week alone, Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers assisted 28 individuals in leaving the area. After evacuation, people arrive at the transit point and are provided with temporary accommodation in Kharkiv, where they can rest and receive the necessary assistance.
