The Ukrainian Red Cross participated in joint exercises with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region
Recently, a joint training exercise took place in the Cherkasy region, involving the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross and first responders from the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region. The primary goal of the exercise was to enhance readiness for responding to emergencies on water bodies during the ice melt and to provide necessary assistance to victims using specialised equipment.
During the training, several water rescue scenarios were practised to ensure a prompt and professional response in the event of real emergencies. The volunteers and emergency workers also honed their driving skills in rough terrain and overcoming water obstacles using off-road vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz Zetros, a Bohun all-terrain vehicle, and quadricycles.
It is worth noting that the Ukrainian Red Cross in the Cherkasy region is an integral member of the State Emergency Response System. The team from the Cherkasy regional branch of the Ukrainian Red Cross, particularly the Cherkasy emergency response team, is actively involved in addressing the consequences of emergencies in the region. Emergency response activities in the Cherkasy region are conducted in accordance with the Unified National and Regional Emergency Response Plan.
