Training on Restoring Family Links, supported by the British Red Cross, was conducted by the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service for regional volunteers

The purpose of the training, titled “Restoring Family Links in the Context of International Armed Conflict,” is to enhance the skills needed to process appeals from families of missing persons and prisoners of war, as well as to standardise practices across regions.

The number of appeals to the Ukrainian Red Cross Tracing Service is increasing each month. Volunteers and staff regularly encounter requests of varying complexity and maintain constant contact with individuals who have lost loved ones, providing them with essential information and support. Consequently, the training included discussions on self-help methods and stress management for those searching for their relatives.

The training also included participation from our partners within the International Movement and the Investigation Division of the Central Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They discussed the current status of calls regarding prisoners of war and those deceased.

We would like to remind you that if you lose contact with your relatives, you can contact the Tracing Service by calling the Ukrainian Red Cross hotline at 0 800 332 656.

Alternatively, you can send a request to the following email address: rfl@redcross.org.ua.
