The Ukrainian Red Cross has launched a first aid training programme for firefighters in the Kirovohrad region
A first aid training course has been launched for fire and rescue personnel, as well as employees of local fire brigades. The first classes were held in the Kropyvnytskyi and Dobrovelychkivka divisions of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region. In Dobrovelychkivka, representatives from the fire brigades of Lypniazhka and Tyshkivka participated in the training.
Participants learned how to provide first aid to injured individuals with varying degrees of injuries, focusing on cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques and methods for controlling bleeding. They practised their skills on a training manikin that records the force of pressure on the chest and provides feedback in case of incorrect actions. Additionally, they worked through a step-by-step algorithm for assisting individuals with spinal cord and musculoskeletal injuries.
Participants had the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors and analyse common mistakes to avoid them when assisting victims.
