Advice on how to avoid scams

There has been an increased spread of fraudulent online fundraising activities disguised as the Ukrainian Red Cross lately. Please, be careful.
 We have prepared a few pieces of advice which will help you avoid getting scammed:
  • fraudulent pages/channels are usually newly created; they have few news and subscribers. Their primary focus – is to raise money;
  • the Ukrainian Red Cross pages on Facebook and Instagram have the official status – a blue circle with a tick next to the page name; their news track reaches back before the war, is updated regularly, and they have thousands of subscribers;
  • Ukrainian Red Cross Society publishes all the current information in the official channels, which we urge you to consult – for instance, redcross.org.ua.
  • Ukrainian Red Cross Society does not have any Telegram/Viber channel or bot for collecting personal data
  • all charitable donation methods to support the country’s population are conveyed through the official Ukrainian Red Cross Society sources. All available options are listed here – https://redcross.org.ua/donate/;
  • in case you see any suspicious information, please contact the Ukrainian Red Cross support at sos@redcross.org.ua, or check it with the Information center at 0 800 332 656.
