Services of Mobile Health Units
Services Provided
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the need to develop additional services in certain regions has increased. In particular, a children’s Mobile Health Unit was launched in the Rivne region in October 2022. During these visits, specialists examine children from birth to 18 years old, provide paediatric consultations, take medical histories, perform auscultation of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, and measure oxygen saturation levels. In addition, a multidisciplinary unit with a special focus on psychosocial support has been operating in the Odesa region since 2024.
How to Access Services
When the visit schedule is finalised, the head of the community is informed about the date of the mobile health unit’s visit. The exact time and location of the reception are arranged in coordination with the community, depending on its capacity. Once confirmed, the head of the community informs residents about the mobile health unit’s schedule, usually at least one week in advance.
If a mobile health unit is operating in your village or town, and you require a visit:
- Contact the head of your community;
- The head of the community will submit a request to the local health department;
- The regional health department, together with the Ukrainian Red Cross, will develop a schedule and route for the visit to your community;
- The head of the community will be informed of the time and location of the visit, and will then notify local residents.
No pre-registration is required to receive assistance from the Ukrainian Red Cross Mobile Health Unit. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
